The Good Life Farm Co Hive Share

Here's your chance to learn about bee keeping and harvest your own honey on The Good Life Farm in the Macedon Ranges.

A $200 hive share subscription provides us with the funds to purchase a new hive, while offering subscribers the chance to:

  • Learn how to build a bee hive

  • Open your bee hive with our support

  • Harvest your own honey

  • Learn the specifics of bee keeping; and

  • Increase the bee population

We’re currently taking enrollments for the 2019/2020 Hive Share

The program is spread across the following four dates:

Saturday 19 October 2019

Saturday 1 February 2020

Saturday 18 April 2020

Saturday 11 July 2020

After the final workshop, you can choose to either buy the hive at a negotiated price, or allow us to begin managing it. Want to know more? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions or book a place using the link below.

What do we know about bees?

Claire has been a bee keeper for over ten years and is currently studying Certificate 3 in Beekeeping at Tocal College.

The course has been gratefully funded by a bursury Claire won as the Victorian winner and national runner up of the 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award.

Her award was in support of Claire's desire to breed a range of genetically diverse queen bees that are healthy and adaptable in a variety of climates, to address declining bee colony numbers.

Where’s The Good Life Farm?

The Good Life Farm Co is located in Kyneton, approximately 1.25 hours’ drive north west from Melbourne. It’s a beautiful drive and a fantastic town to explore before or after the workshop.
